Dr. Richard L. Watnick has been an Ophthalmologist since 1985. After receiving his undergraduate and Medical Degree from the University of Michigan, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Michigan’s prestigious Kellogg Eye Center. Dr. Watnick remained at the University of Michigan for additional specialized fellowship training in glaucoma.
Dr. Watnick has numerous credentials including board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology. Because of his training and expertise he was honored with membership in the American Glaucoma Society. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the Michigan Ophthalmologic Society, Michigan State Medical Society, the Macomb County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Watnick has lectured extensively on glaucoma to professional organizations and has numerous publications to his credit. In 1990 he founded the Eastside Ophthalmology and Glaucoma Center’s, which became the largest glaucoma practice in the area. The
practice name was changed to Michigan Glaucoma Specialists, P.C. His mission has always been to provide the best and most
compassionate glaucoma and eye care to his patients. He has been selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America” by his peers.
